Profitable Resource-Efficient Management in Albania

What is PREMA?

The PREMA concept presents an integrated, efficient and profitable management of a given company’s resources by strengthening the competences of “change agents” within the company itself, to grow resource efficiency, productivity, and competitiveness of business models and its contribution to a circular, inclusive and resilient economy.

Before the training, PREMA goes through an intricate plan for tracking, encouraging and stimulating companies to be part of their profitable trainings. A motivation campaign spreads the information and attracts the interest of the companies. The application process launches during the info sessions and after each promotional event. PREMA has a 4-week-long, two-step application process: first online, and then in an interview. Firstly, the evaluation committee, composed of CPoBA and Balance, selects the eligible companies. In the second step, the interview explores the motivation and readiness of the company to attend PREMA.

How does it work?

During a 2-day training, the companies are introduced to the PREMA Method through a mix of presentation-debates and practical exercises, using experiential learning principles. The following step is the company application, during which the experts identify and document NPO as well as share ideas for optimization measures. The companies are evaluated by the PREMA experts, who then develop a set of measures to be implemented with the assistance of the PREMA experts. This is done in another 2-day training, and it is the basis for follow-up coaching or consultancy meetings (3 on-site visits and electronic communication) which leads to the implementation and documentation of at least 2 NPO-reducing measures. During 2 “business network meetings” facilitated by a PREMA trainer, participants assist each other in developing strategies that solve key problems of implementation.

The Balance Center collaborates with the National Chamber of Crafts, the Women’s Economic Chamber, the Albanian Manufacturers Union, Durrës Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Regional Development Agency Berat. Each chamber/union ensures and facilitates the participation of their respective companies in PREMA.

Eligibility

All companies that are signed under the above-mentioned Chambers and Unions, companies that have been operating for more than 3 years, and that have a minimum of 5 employees, are eligible to apply and follow the PREMA trainings.
